i’ll catch some hell for this but my favorite part of this full moon is NOT the Venus cazimi, the Jupiter co-presence or even Mercury being home in Gemini to preside over the whole thing. no, my favorite alignment in the whole production is the overcoming square from Saturn.  tbh i think this moon WITHOUT Saturn’s pressure would be an absolute disaster.  the benefics are in questionable condition anyways and malefics are mean but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re wrong. and in this case- Saturn is making some strong points. 

when i say the house Gemini rules for you is being changed forever please know i am not being hyperbolic. because as much as we’ve discussed and discoursed over Jupiter in Gemini, this transit is just a warm up for Uranus entering Gemini 4/26/26. you think the indecision you’re facing now is bad? at least these changes look voluntary! the same usually can’t be said in the aftermath of uranian upheaval. and yes Saturn squares are demoralizing + obstructive but that resistance is where the true bounty lives;

• resistance is necessary to build strength

• resistance is necessary to develop problem solving skills

• resistance is needed to build resilience 

• resistance is what forces adaptability and creative problem solving skills 

resistance fosters the behaviors that turn choice into actual change. and when there is no choice that precedes the change (fate will have her way after all) it’s our skill in the face of resistance that helps us adapt and thrive. what you will push thru, what you will endure in pursuit of your desire is directly proportional to how deeply you want/need whatever you are seeking. all actions have consequences and blessings require stewardship (too much of a good thing etc etc). any saturnian pushback will help you answer a question that no one else can answer for you; is it worth it? which leads us directly into our NEXT cautionary tale…

venus cazimi in gemini-

Venus is currently cazimi, in the heart of the Sun, marking the end of her morning star phase and the beginning of her evening star phase.  Venus in her morning star phase is an active, diurnal, yang phase of Venus. this is the more militant, high agency face of Venus (battle mode). her evening star phase is more introspective, deep and sometimes painful + nostalgic. as such, it is rocket fuel for artistry, creativity, and moonlit love affairs that make little sense in the morning. 

consider the ancient lore surrounding Venus’ evening star phase, the myth of Inanna’s descent. Inanna leaves the heavens to travel to literal hell, the kingdom of her sister Ereshkigal (saturn herself). heaven is no longer enough for Inanna (relatable) and she decides to seize control of the underworld while her sister is weakened with grief.

Inanna shows up at the gates of hell in her militarized, morning star state. she’s wearing all her wealth and power, dressed in her finest clothes + all of the talismans of  her divinity.  meanwhile, her sister, Ereshkigal is deeply pregnant and newly widowed. Ereshkigal is distraught and disheveled planning the funeral rites for her dead husband and here comes Inanna, uninvited and armed. 

suffice it to say, Inanna didn’t make it out alive, not at first anyways. Ereshkigal knows what is happening and has Inanna stripped of every talisman, every agent of (morning star) force. only then is Inanna brought to Ereshkigal’s throne room, naked + defenseless. she is sentenced to death by her sister and once the sentence is delivered her naked corpse is left hanging on a meathook. 

Inanna is eventually resurrected thanks to a loyal servant alerting the gods to what happened and their successful intervention. but for Inanna to return to the heavens and resume her glorious morning star status she has to pay a price. a life for a life.  after being forced to make this choice (who lives? who dies?) and live with the consequences, Inanna returns to the heavens with new wisdom, humility, and purpose.

this is the journey we take with venus as evening star + it’s a very saturnian process when you think about it. is what you’re seeking worth the sacrifice of what you have? decisions, decisions.

this climactic underworld finish comes on 3/22/25 with a wild cazimi between the exalted sun in Aries and a retrograde, debilitated Venus. from now until then we are exploring just how deep we’re willing to go in pursuit of love, creativity, art, connection and beauty. Jupiter + Venus represent “the good things” in life, the things that become easily taken for granted when they appear too accessible, too mundane.

the more determined our unexamined/unexpressed desires become the more corrosive they are to the enjoyment of the present moment. those nagging “what ifs” suck all of the joy out of the here and now and the mind divides itself trying to live in two realities at once. you can live in this indecision forever; as long as you are willing to pay the price of a fragmented self and scattered will. once again, what’s it worth to you?

final psa: after the sun, moon + mercury pass thru their saturn squares, mars enters taurus and immediately forms a fixed tsquare with pluto in aquarius and the leo moon (sunday 6/9). once again, opposition comes alongside the opportunities. do what you will that data.

whatever happens, you’ll definitely want a creative medium for the next 9 months, as that is what the unconscious uses to bring itself forth. an added benefit? you get to bring something beautiful + deep into the world (to be shared i hope). w/o some sort of imaginative channel, shadow desires can only make themselves known thru our relationships, our Others. that can make for some beautiful + intimate moments for anyone who finds their way to truth. sometimes, not always. art is usually the more humane choice than using our loved ones as involuntary shadow guides.

the full moon that concludes this lunar cycle is on 6/21/22 in the first degree of capricorn. it’s ruled by Saturn who is days away from stationing retrograde (more twists, more turns). until then? seek what (truly) interests you, show love + attention when you find it, and persevere when you feel called. the path reveals itself as the moon gathers light. <3
